Name the task
“Use AI” is not a requirement. “Extract location and budget from an inquiry, preserving the original message” is a task that can be designed and evaluated.
Make uncertainty visible
A missing timeline should remain unknown. An ambiguous place name should invite clarification. Treat uncertainty as useful information rather than a defect to hide.
Separate interpretation from action
A model may interpret a message, but business rules should decide who can act and when approval is required. Drafting a reply and sending it are different permissions.
Evaluate the difficult examples
Test incomplete requests, multiple languages, contradictory budgets and irrelevant messages. Agree on the fallback before connecting the system to a real customer workflow.
